Announcement of SBF-APS São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Experimental Neutrino Physics (SBF-APS SP-SASEN)

Dec 03 - 14, 2018, Unicamp - Campinas - São Paulo, Brazil

The SBF-APS São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Experimental Neutrino Physics (SBF-APS SP - SASEN) proposes to disseminate information and methods in the area, especially to young students and researchers interested in neutrino physics. It will present a general view on key topics with the aid of renowned specialists.

There will be seven main topics:

1. Neutrino oscillation phenomenology

2. Long-baseline neutrino experiments

3. Short-baseline neutrino experiments

4. Sterile neutrinos

5. Supernova neutrinos

6. Neutrino mass measurements

7. Experimental techniques for neutrino detection

Hands on activities will be offered in which discussion on new technologies will be stimulated. The participants will be able to present their works in the form of posters during the school. A visit to the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS) is also planned.

Applications are opened until September 28th. PhD students and postdoctoral fellows from all countries are encouraged to apply. Undergraduate and master students will also be accepted. For the selected applicants the SBF-APS SP-SASEN will cover: air tickets, accommodation, food expenses and local transportation during the course.
