The Invisibles18 School, hosted at the TUM Science & Study Center Raitenhaslach in Burghausen, Germany (from August 28th to September 1st, 2018), concludes today.

The School was jointly organised by the Horizon 2020 Innovative Training Network ITN Elusives and the Collaborative Research Center 'Neutrinos and Dark Matter in Astro- and Particle Physics' (SFB1258).

The lecture topics covered were:

- The birth of (non-stellar) neutrino astronomy: multi-messenger astrophysics and active galactic nuclei - Paolo Padovani, ESO

- Axion and ALPs: a broader view - Jörg Jäckel, University of Heidelberg

- DM without prejudice - Kathryn Zurek, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

- Neutrinos with focus on non-oscillation physics - Kate Scholberg, Duke University

- Classical solutions in field theory - Andrew Cohen, Boston University

In addition, Elusives ESR Bruno Martin gave a talk on science journalism.

The poster session took place on Wednesday evening, with the prizes awarded after a round of secret votes [see photo]. The winners were: in joint third place, Andrea Caputo and Felix Henningsen, Chloe Ransom was second and Simon King took the first place. Congratulations!

School attendees enjoyed social activities which included a grill party in the monastery courtyard after the poster session, and a boat cruise down the river Salzach and tour of the Burghausen castle on Thursday afternoon and the School social dinner at the Agustiner restaurant on Thursday evening [see photos].

The School will be followed by the Invisibles18 Workshop KIT in Karlsruhe.
